Virtual Worlds Worksheet #1
Geographical Description (1)
Key Concepts:
The location of your world has a great effect on all aspects of its development. A world located on a distant planet will be very different from one that is under the ocean or on a tropical island. Dress styles, housing, jobs, agriculture, food and even sports will be affected by location.
The size of your world is also important. A large world may be able to produce everything it needs to provide for its citizens whereas a smaller world may need to work with its neighbors to get what it needs.
Examples: Russia has an area of 6,592,850 square miles, making it the world's largest country. The USA is 3,615,123 square miles, Alaska 586,000 square miles, Japan 142,773 square miles, Arizona 114,046 square miles, Israel 7,900 square miles, Fiji 1,900 square miles.
The climate of your world is important. The boundaries are also important. Are the boundaries water or land? Will your world have seaports or be landlocked?
Think about your worlds name? Will it named after someone or something? Will it be named by its description?
