Key Concepts: The physical geography of a country will influence many aspects of its development and character.

 

Suggestions:

Look at maps of real countries and point out the location of important rivers, lakes, mountains, harbors and other land formations.

 

Think about the way these landforms affected the growth and development of that country.  Examples: Rivers can mean seaports leading inland, lakes offer fishing and recreation; mountains form natural boundaries and obstacles to travel and communication.

 

Answer the following questions in the space provided.

Use one copy of your outline map to add physical characteristics to your virtual world including seaports, harbors, mountains, rivers and other important landforms. Locate the capital city and at least 5 other cities in your virtual world and add these to your map. Include a legend.
